The Crude Oil Logistics Committee came into being in December, 1992 as a decision making body of crude oil and condensate producers and shippers; gathering and feeder pipeline and trunk line operators; truck and pipeline terminal operators; custom treater and cleaning plant operators; industry regulators; and, industry associations for the effective and efficient management of the western Canadian crude oil and segregated condensate logistics system.

The COLC general membership meetings provide an open forum for the discussion of supply, forecasting and movement issues.

Born of the Alberta Energy Resources Conservation Board’s Statistical Supply Committee, the COLC published its first set of forecasting procedures to be effective with the production month of March, 1993.

The COLC’s Administrative Office opened its doors in early July that same year.
