The Crude Oil Logistics Committee came into being in December, 1992 as a decision making body of crude oil producers and shippers, feeder and extra-provincial pipeline operators, industry agencies and associations for the effective and efficient management of the western Canadian crude oil logistics system.
The Committee is to operate as an open industry forum for discussion of supply, forecasting and movement issues.
Born of the then Alberta Energy Resources Conservation Board's Statistical Supply Committee, the Crude Oil Logistics Committee published its first set of forecasting procedures to be effective with the March production month in 1993.
The Committee's Administrative Office opened its doors in early July that same year.
